Training

We offer training to help you get the most out of your CFdesign investment. Facilities are located throughout the United States and Europe. We also offer on-site training.

Fundamentals Class
For new users, we offer a two-day Fundamentals Class. The program consists of an introduction to flow theory, modeling, an exploration of the entire CFdesign user interface, effective use of simulation results, and application-specific discussions. Ample lab time is provided so users can get good "hands-on" practice with the software. We spend time on tutorial models as well as the student's specific applications. We encourage students to bring samples of the types of models they work on in "real world" work scenarios.

Motion Module Class (* = Motion Module Class)
The Motion Class is a one-day course for experienced CFdesign users who need to use the CFdesign Motion Module. The Motion Module allows for a wide range of solid-body motion within a fluid flow analysis. The class covers the following specific motions: rotating, linear, angular, combined linear and angular, combined orbital/rotational, nutating, and sliding vane. Solid body motions that are prescribed by the user as well as driven by the flow are addressed using examples from common industrial situations. Designed to equip the attendees with the tools needed to simulate complex flow and thermal models, the course features several interactive examples in conjunction with discussions of analysis best practices.

Optimizing Pro/ENGINEER Geometry for Analysis (* = Optimizing Pro/ENGINEER Geometry)
This class is a one-day course for new and experienced CFdesign users. The skills taught in this course are not required to use Pro/Engineer with CFdesign, but learning them and spending a few extra minutes in Pro/ENGINEER can save you hours in analysis time. We have defined an organized method to ensure good modeling practices as well as troubleshooting and identifying potential issues with your geometry upfront in the design process. Classes are schedule regionally or can be taught onsite for multiple users.

Customized Class
For more experienced users--those who simply want more direction than can be offered over the phone--we offer "Customized Training." This is typically a one- to two-day session in which we focus exclusively on the student's specific applications. The session is not as structured as the Fundamentals Class and is a good forum to learn how to get the most out of CFdesign for your specific applications. We offer this service at either our site or yours. Call for pricing and to schedule. For more information, contact your sales manager.

CFdesign for Electronics Cooling (* = CFdesign for Electronics Cooling )
The Electronics Cooling class focuses on the application of CFdesign to thermal design and management of electronics. The class builds on the foundations of the fundamentals course to investigate specific geometric, physical, and simulation considerations present in thermal design. All modes of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation) are discussed in internal, external, and vented configurations for forced and natural convective flow. Specific attention is paid to physical fundamentals and simulation tactics so the users can directly apply the principles to their designs.

Open Advanced Class (* = Open Advanced Class)
Depending on demand, this class will be either the Motion Module or Optimizing Pro/ENGINEER Geometry for Analysis. For more information, contact your sales manager.
